To ensure that the Academy students possess the skills necessary to succeed in a technological and multicultural global society, Christ Cathedral Academy has made many efforts to integrate technology into all aspects of the curriculum. Currently, Kindergarten through third use iPad minis, while students in fourth through eighth grade use iPads.
Teachers use technology in the delivery of instruction to enhance student engagement. Classrooms are equipped with Epson projectors, Apple TVs, and document cameras to aid teachers in the use of scaffolding and modeling.
Students utilize many apps and websites that keep them engaged, monitor their progress, provide immediate feedback, and assess their progress toward achievement of content standards and SLEs. These developmentally appropriate and grade level specific apps are installed and monitored by the technology team. Examples of these apps and programs include, but are not limited to Socrative, Khan Academy, IXL, Educreations, Edmodo, Keynote, Prezi, Glogster, Nearpod, Youtube, Discovery Education, Google Classroom, Google docs, PBS Kids, National Geographic, Word Salad, Edpuzzle, iMovie, and Reading Rainbow and various educational games.
